@localfeast is a festival that showcases over 50 Minnesota/Wisconsin food makers and producers. It's an amazing place to learn about the local food system, sample and shop local for your holiday needs. It's super fun to discover new flavors.

I've been eyeing @barriobread since my first visit I've been eyeing @barriobread since my first visit to Tuscon  in 2018. Didn't get a chance to try them then so I made it my top priority this time. I patiently waited in line like a good Taiwanese would (usually I despise lines), and got the bread I've been wanting to try for 7 years! 🤯

I'm a picky bread consumer, most of the time I won't eat cold bread and would only eat bread that's freshly baked straight out of the oven. I didn't expect to get a warm loaf of baguette at Barrio Bread, naturally I had to sink my teeth into it as soon as I felt the warmth through the bag. 💖

Got caught in action by two French who were in line after me and they applauded me. 🤣

Sound on for the crunch, so flaky and light. Perfectly moist and chewy in the center with an amazing scent of wheat. The best baguette I've ever had.

Excited to bake with the 3 bags of flour I got too. 😻

Wish I lived closer. Would stand in line again 🤣

Mom texted today wondering why I haven't been upda Mom texted today wondering why I haven't been updating my socials 😅 So here's the update: We've been off the grid hiking the havasupai falls, camping and road tripping.

Honestly wanted nothing to do with social media and the online world. I brought my film camera and took lots of photos... But realized later the film wasn't inserted properly and I lost a whole roll of photos I can never get back nor retake. Super super sad. Sent me down a spiral for 4 days.

The supai hike into the canyon was interesting, beautiful but long. It took us 6+ hours snailing in the sun, sand and rocks. Should have trained for it. 😬

Hope you're enjoying this mini vlog, I'm back in civilization and you should get yourself ready for my endless dumpling content. 🤣

Did you know? I actually designed the current logo Did you know? I actually designed the current logo for the @rochfarmmkt so many years ago. They didn't really have a logo so I took it upon myself to design one for the market. I was really excited about creating a farmers market tote this year for their anniversary since I've wanted to draw everything I see at the market onto a bag for so long! This has been a really fun project. 😍

I've always been passionate about local foods, when I first moved to MN i wanted to learn about everything that grows in MN and what better way to start than the local farmers market?

I made friends at the market- with the farmers and others who are also passionate about local foods and it has shaped me into how I see Minnesota today. 💖

My friends told me that I don't brag enough, so here's me doing a little recap on the project i've done! Ill put the evolution of the Farmers Market logo in my stories if you're interested ☺️

Using MN grown ingredients, mixed with flavors from my childhood, these pan-fried dumplings were big hits!

Can someone tell me why state fair food items are Can someone tell me why state fair food items are all on sticks? Sincerely asking as a person who didn't grow up here. 😂

While I won't actually put these dumplings on sticks during the fair, I will be doing a chef demo at the ECO Experience building on 8/31! 11am, 1pm, 3pm.

I'll show you how to make these delicious pan fried dumplings that took me a week to figure out the best recipe and maximum crispiness. 👌🏻

I'll be doing 3 dumpling chef demos at the @mnstat I'll be doing 3 dumpling chef demos at the @mnstatefair on 8/31! 😍 11am, 1pm, 3pm in the Eco  Experience building (behind the giant amish donut line) with @renewingthecountryside 🥳

This is the best tofu dumpling filling and the easiest I've ever made, seriously. Inspired by a childhood dish my mom(and many Taiwanese moms) would make- a delicious Japanese-style curry- this dumpling filling is packed with locally grown vegetables and delicious @minntofu . 💖

The dumpling wrappers are handmade with @bakersfieldflourandbread flour, which are super QQ and SO flavorful.

Can't wait to see you at the great Minnesota get together. 🥟

Welcome to today's episode of how to eat a croissa Welcome to today's episode of how to eat a croissant like an asian. 😂 A little behind the scenes of how the last video was filmed.

I never really think about squatting being an Asian thing, it's just something I do... Often. It's the default lower position because sometimes the ground just doesn't seem clean enough to sit and I don't want to stand anymore, so... Squat.

It's also how most people use public toilets in Taiwan, we have squatting toilets and even when there are Western style toilets we still squat because no one wants to put their bums on a public toilet.

Squatting is a survival skill as it turns out.
Dug up this gem I filmed by the river of Lyon just Dug up this gem I filmed by the river of Lyon just for you 🤭 I love learning about food! This is something I didn't know before eating 20+ croissants in France (because I always missed the lunch hours 😂). 

In France, only croissants made with 100% butter can be in the straight shape, if they're made with other types of oil then they will have a crescent shape! I love this so much, such a great way to identify what's in the food and to me it's a sign of the craftsmanship. 💖

When the weather gets cooler, I'll try making croissants again. The last attempt in 90°F without AC didn't go so well. 🤭😂

Jook Sing is a collaboration of chefs Mike Yuen and Tony Gao. They draw inspiration from their immigrant Chinese childhood and Midwest American upbringing. Their cuisine is the culmination of decades of experiencing both cultures simultaneously.

There are no wrong answers when it comes to ordering at Jook Sing. Some of our favorites include salmon yusheng, mala tartare, chilled sesame noodles, cucumber salad, 3 cup mushroom, kickin chicken that's served with tingly ranch and the sweet tea cake with red bean ice cream for dessert! 💖

The dishes were innovative but every bite reminded me of home, many tasted like dishes at hot-fry(熱炒)restaurants in Taiwan, where we would order (almost) everything on the menu and drink with friends and chat and laugh for hours. It is one of our favorite ways to spend our time and something we miss dearly, glad to have the opportunity to do this in Minnesota at @jooksingmn. 🥹
