Farmers Market: Boulder, CO | 農夫市集: 波德,科羅拉多

Farmers market: Boulder, CO has wonderful vegetables, amazing bread, lots of local products and delicious food trucks. Wish I lived there so I could go there every weekend!

Colorado, the mile high state has so much more than 14ers(peaks that are higher than 14,000ft), legal high and numerous sports activities, it also has lots of cute towns, street malls and wonderful farmers market. Boulder was a wonderful town to visit.

We took a trip to Colorado and decided to check out Boulder on a Saturday, great idea! We found the farmers market as soon as we got off the bus, it was located in civic park and it was bustling with vendors, shoppers and colorful vegetables!

I was surprised by the variety of vegetables piled high on tables, since at Rochester downtown farmers market everything seems to be dying down in the winter. There are still vegetables, but the options are limited comparing to the summer market. In Boulder, it’s not the case. Bundles of leafy greens, root vegetables, a rainbow of tomatoes along with mushrooms are on display waiting to be chosen.

I couldn’t believe the amount of bread that was at the farmers market. They came rolling in giant piles of baskets, and there’s something for everybody. Pastries, muffins, whole wheat bread, sour dough, gluten free it’s impressive. Besides bread, there was even a homemade pasta stand selling pasta in all shapes and color with the vendor playing guitar and singing, awesome music session!

Homemade mole, adobo and various pungent spice mix is also available at the market, I really wanted to bring some back but we weren’t checking any bags so there was no way to bring them back. SAD. They tasted so good.

Food trucks and vendors also joins the party at the end of the street. Everything from Mexican, Vietnamese to Spanish and artisanal chocolate looks delicious. It was really hard to decide what to try with so many options available!

What’s most impressive and memorable about this farmers market to me, was the knife sharpening stand. Maybe it’s because I desperately need my knife sharpened, I screamed with excitement when I saw the couple taking knifes from customers and sharpening them. Wish we had one in Rochester! They have a machine set up and can turn any knife razor sharp within 15 minutes, just what I need. No one should ever cook with a dull knife, got to keep them polished and sharp at all times. It’s much safer to use a sharp knife too, I’ve hurt myself so many times with dull knifes, but never had any problems with a sharp one. Sharp knives simply makes life easier.
